The Brunch Lore
Hailing out of the Flatirons of Boulder, CO, Experimental Brunch is just what the name implies: a delicious meal in the late morning and early afternoon. Made up of alumni from the Jazz schools of CU Boulder and Michigan State, this cradle of cats creates a musical cocktail with the classic Jazz sounds of Weather Report and Herbie Hancock and garnishes it with the modern Indie Rock sound. Take a seat and enjoy as we serve up your bacon, eggs, beats, and toast.

With a brass section that gives the track some punch and a no vocals jam in part of the song that stretches things out in all the right ways, Closure feels like something you’d hear at a high-end lounge with a little bit of an edge.Â
Thomas Rutherford
In “Closure”, the group shows its refinement and creativity, mixing elements of ska, indie rock and jazz, in an instrumental full of wind instruments, with a beautiful saxophone solo at the end. In addition to the arrangement, the great performance of the vocalist is also noteworthy.

Mitch Segura
Guitarist, Singer, Writer, Producer, Founder
Mitch graduated from CU Boulder in 2024 with a degree in Jazz Studies and Music Technology. While his main instrument is guitar, he also dabbles in bass, piano, drums, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone (quite poorly he may add). In addition to Experimental Brunch, Mitch also releases music under a solo project and is a member of Fendure Bendures and Soph and Austin.
While he isn’t cooking Brunch, Mitch works as an IT Professional at a number of K-8 schools in the Denver and Boulder areas, as a Stage Technician at Mackey Auditorium, and is a freelance audio and mixing engineer. Mitch has also been an avid skier since he learned to walk and frequents Copper Mountain and Eldora. It should also be noted that no one has ever seen Mitch and Batman in the same room together.
